Independent Audit CommitteeChinwe is an Economist with strong analytical and research skills. She currently works at FBNQuest Merchant Bank (an arm of FBN Holdings). She possesses a sound understanding of the inter-linkages between various macroeconomic indicators. She has notable practical experience in producing policy relevant economic research reports which cover fiscal profile, fx dynamics, interest rate, trade, GDP growth trends, reserves management, inflation and sectorial trends. Using her wealth of knowledge, Chinwe has produced over 400 published economic notes.
On print media, her views around economic trends are featured across multiple media platforms – Her article geared towards the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA) and Women was published by the World Economic Forum for the 2019 WEF Africa Summit. She has been included to high profile committees in global financial and development institutions and is an active member of the Africa Development Bank Annual Meetings, Chinwe currently sits as a member of the board committee on research at the Nigeria Economic Summit Group.
Chinwe is also the lead Economist and National Focal point for Nigeria on a United Nations Economic Commission for Africa (UNECA) development account project on services trade in Africa. The project aims to measure how financial services contribute to the level and scope of Nigeria’s integration into regional value chains (RVCs), assess the degree to which developing further the financial services may improve RVCs and identify policy gaps and how to address them to catalyze growth of the financial services sector.
She has been listed as one of the 100 most inspiring Nigerian women by Leading Ladies Africa. In 2018, she was included to the Corporate Nigeria PowerList as one of the ten most influential professional Nigerians under 40 and also recognised as a leading woman in banking by the Association of Professional Women Bankers’, an arm of the Chattered Institute of Bankers Nigeria. Chinwe has been nominated as young professional of the year by Future Awards Africa and won the 2018 HER Network Career Woman of the Year.
She is passionate about women empowerment and is a firm believer of equipping disadvantaged women with tools to enable them thrive. Chinwe is an Associate of Women in Management, Business and Public Service and serves as the Head of Fundraising on its planning committee as well as Head of Research on the WIMBoard (Women on Boards) Advocacy Committee.
Chinwe is a mentor to several young female professionals and one of Nigeria’s celebrated young leaders.
