Ifeoma Okonkwo FCA, ACMA, CGMA, ACTI, MBA.

Ms. Ifeoma Okonkwo is a seasoned finance professional with over 14 years of extensive corporate experience spanning internal, external, and due diligence audits, local and international taxation, ESG, management and financial accounting, investors and Board reporting, as well as budget and planning.

Having worked in diverse industries ranging from financial and professional services, hospitality, media, and currently, entertainment, Ifeoma joined the most prominent record label in Africa, Mavin Global (Mavin Records) in 2019 as Director of Finance.

Prior to Mavin Records, she was CFO of RED Media Limited and the Asst. Financial Controller of Transcorp Hotels, Calabar. For many years, she was Assurance Lead for various clients across diverse industries including offshore construction, marine, oil services, international trade logistics, broadcast media and real estate.

Ifeoma is responsible for setting up the finance policies, processes, and operations of Mavin Records since the business secured a multi-million-dollar investment from Kupanda Holdings in 2019 and now UMG in 2024. She has been instrumental in driving the strategy, growth, and the label’s mission to become the entertainment powerhouse of Africa.

She has contributed her experience and knowledge of music business on platforms like the Financial Management Magazine (UK), Strength in the Numbers Podcast and Andersen CFO Breakfast Meeting Series, amongst others.

She is interested in the role of finance in Africa’s emerging markets and the inclusion of black women in high level corporate positions. This has motivated her to serve as a Mentor for Femme Africa Mentorship Programme, facilitate various finance sessions for Audiogirl Africa and speak at the Mavin X Spotify International Women’s Day masterclass to help in educating and creating opportunities for women in the African creative industry.

Ifeoma is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (FCA), Associate of the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants CIMA UK (ACMA, CGMA), an Associate of the Chartered Institute of Taxation of Nigeria (ACTI) and a student member of ADIT in cross border tax by the Chartered Institute of Taxation in the UK.

She holds a first degree in Accounting from Lagos State University and a Master’s in Business Administration (MBA) from Edinburgh Business School (EBS) Heriot-Watt University, United Kingdom.
