Meet Godwin Benson, winner of The Future Awards Africa Prize for Education | Endowed by University of Sussex

After a Sunday night that saw the best of young people across Nigeria and beyond being recognized by the organizers of The Future Awards Africa (TFAA) for their outstanding achievement in various fields of endeavour, YNaija caught up with Godwin Benson, the TFAA winner in the Education category.

Benson is a first class graduate of Systems Engineering from the University of Lagos who founded Tuteria, a Nigerian-based online platform that connects individuals seeking to learn with those who can teach the subject or skill in their neighbourhood.

In a chat with us, Godwin spoke about his award saying: “I am the founder of Tuteria which is an only platform that connects learners with qualified tutors in any formal or informal subject or skill. I’m excited to have emerged the winner of the Future Awards for Education, and look forward to further extending our services to help many more people achieve their learning goals.”

Speaking about its support for education in Nigeria and across the continent, Tosin Adebisi, the Senior International Officer of the University of Sussex express his delight at the success of its partnership with The Future Project assuring that the institution will continue to support excellence on the continent in years to come.

“Sussex is delighted to partner with The Future Awards Africa and support the Prize for Education. We are proud to work closely with our partners across Africa to develop potential and promote global citizenship and youth empowerment,” Adebisi said.

“With our scholarships, we continue to reward academic excellence and celebrate high-flying students.”
